MTV News was joined by professor Mackenzie Johnson to discuss the 2016 presidential election and whether or not we’ll be watching the next one.
We’re not gonna take it, we’re not going to go back to the days of Trump, and we’re definitely not going back to Trump-ism.
It’s just time to go to another level.
We’re just trying to take it to the next level.
And we’re just going to get up and be creative, and go outside our comfort zones and be a little more subversive.
We don’t want to go down the same path as him.
That’s a good thing.
I think he should be ashamed of himself.
And so, we can all be proud of ourselves and what we’re doing, but at the same time, I don’t think we’re going to take our eyes off of the ball right now.
I’m really excited for the next thing, but we can only do so much.
We can’t take the ball with us.
We have to be creative.
And that’s a very good thing, and I’m very happy that we have that.
It’s a great feeling.
I’m glad we’re getting to that point where we’re actually seeing the things that we were expecting to see on this side of the Atlantic.
That was the whole idea of this album was to be a throwback to the early 90s.
That whole ’90s era that was so much of what we’ve been talking about on our show.
And now we’re in a period where we have a President Trump and it’s a time where there’s a lot of things that people want to talk about, and that’s not a good time for people to talk.
I would never say that to people, but I would say that if there’s something that people need to be saying, and they’re looking for a change in the world, and a change that they can’t really get, then they should definitely be saying something on this album.
So I feel like we’re at a point in time where we’ve gotten so much, so much in our country, and it feels like we’ve got a lot left to give, and people need more than that, but that’s just the way it is.
We’ve got to make it our mission to try and give back, and to give more.
We can’t get back to a time that was not just a time of revolution and an era of great hope.
That is where it was and where it should be.
